I believe you can change what needs changing.

I believe you have precious value.

I believe joy is ALWAYS possible.

I believe “negative” emotions are ok and are part of life.

I believe in as many chances as you need.

I believe who you are is enough.

I believe you deserve love from others and yourself.

I believe there are other choices if you are willing to see them.

I believe that happiness is inside of you right now and not when you lose the 5 pounds, get the perfect job, or find the love of your life.

The bottom line is: I believe in your power to create a soul satisfying life.

Rosemary Clark, LPC, LMFT
EMDR Certified Therapist

My favorite self-help book?  I have an insatiable appetite for self-help books as is evidenced by my bookshelves, which are overflowing with them. I have a special shelf for my favorites that I regularly recommend to people. But, if I had to name the one that has been most meaningful in my own life, it would be “A Woman’s Worth” by Marianne Williamson. I found this gem in my 20s and again in my 40s, and the entire book resonates with me. I hear a new truth every time I enter the pages.  The book I recommend most often is "Shift Happens" by Robert Holden.  This gem is best consumed via audiobook where the author's personality helps the material to easily sink into our minds.  The content Dr Holden discusses in the book is often the direction therapy with me will take.

The thing that always makes me smile? My daughter’s laugh… for many reasons. I come from a long line of southern women who taught me what it means to be a “lady”. One of the requirements shared through the years was “a lady’s laugh should sound like a babbling brook”. My laugh sounds more like the roaring ocean, but my daughter’s is the sweetest sound I know. It makes me smile to hear it, because it’s hers, and because it helps me remember all the beautiful women before us.

How do I de-stress? I garden. There is something magical for me in tending to the soil and watching your plants grow and mature. I often have too many thoughts ping-ponging in my head, but the second my hands hit dirt….all is quiet for a while. It is a sacred space for me.

My favorite quote? "In the midst of winter, I found there was, within me, an invisible summer."  ~ Albert Camus  I have carried this quote in my heart and literally in pockets and journals for years.  I recently found a canvas with the entire quote and it was the first purchase I made before we moved into our new building.  I knew it had to be in our lobby!  This is the premise of what Whole Health was founded upon.
